Carleton Divestment - Join the Movement

The campaign for divestment led by Students Against Israeli Apartheid (SAIA) continues at Carleton University in the winter of 2011 with a call for a campus wide referendum. I produced this video in January 2011 for this new phase of the campaign. Special thanks to Ben Saifer for script development and Rabita Sharfuddin for coordination.

Novotel Mic Check

I took part in a direct action in early December 2011 as part of a community campaign to pressure Novotel to stop harassing its workers who have been trying to unionize with UNITE HERE. This is what I was able to put together from the footage I got.

PSAC Young Workers Committee - NCR

As part of my new job as Political Action and Communications Officer for the Public Service Alliance of Canada in the national capital region, I worked with the nascent Young Workers Committee to produce these splash videos (English and French), released in December 2011.

2012 Couchiching Promotional

As part of the Couchiching Institute's revamped presence on the web, Dawghaus Studios released the 2012 promotional in early December, a few months earlier than usual. We shot this short video featuring interviews with Ovide Mercredi, Mona Eltahawy and Naheed Nenshi, amongst others, back in August.

Canadian Jews Oppose the Jewish National Fund (JNF)

Independent Jewish Voices Canada (IJV Canada) asked me to produce this video in support of their Stop the JNF campaign, which launched in the fall of 2011. Special thanks to Dave Ron for interviewing Dr. Ismail Zayid in Halifax.

Dan Mangan in Ottawa

Dan Mangan, having just released Oh Fortune, played at the Bronson Centre on 14 October 2011 and Dawghaus Studios partnered up with Apt613.ca to interview him and produce a short piece.

MikroKopter First Flight

Over the last few months, Ryan Davies and I have been considering options for aerial videography and we've now settled on attaching a DSLR camera mount under the MikroKopter Hexa XL. As part of this step-by-step process of development, we sent the MK on a first flight in early October 2011.

Justice for Aboriginal Peoples Campaign

Dawghaus Studios spent a day in May 2011 with members of the Public Service Alliance of Canada's (PSAC) Aboriginal Circle shooting their recounting of Canadian aboriginal history, and then produced this video for the PSAC's Justice for Aboriginal Peoples campaign, which was officially launched on June 21 (National Aboriginal Day). Primary distribution is via YouTube and the video is also available in French. Thanks to Michael Desautels for writing the script.

Hassan Diab Video Statement

Ahead of the extradition decision from the Ontario Superior Court on 6 June 2011, I met with Hassan Diab and his support committee to film this statement, which will be provided to reporters following an expected unfavourable decision that will result in Mr. Diab being taken into immediate custody.
