Toronto G20 Public Inquiry

The behaviour of the various police forces in Toronto over the period leading up to and including the June 2010 G20 meeting is shocking, and completely unacceptable in a liberal democratic society. I was in Toronto over the G20 weekend and was illegally detained with dozens of others in the Parkdale neighbourhood (where the infamous Officer Bubbles incident occurred) for about two hours on Sunday the 27th. Sara Falconer has written about the episode in the Ottawa Xpress, and the incident is part of a class action lawsuit currently being handled by Klippensteins Barristers & Solictors. I cut some of the footage from that weekend into a short video. There are still many unanswered questions about the abuse of state power in that period, and only a full public inquiry will provide some much needed clarity on the matter.
